(6 total games will be played--each opponent has 45 minutes (with 5-second clock delay) to complete his game; NO ELIMINATION, everyone will play all 6 games). Individual & Team competition will be played simultaneously.

NOTE: All members on a "SCHOOL TEAM" or "CLUB TEAM" must register in the same group (Boys or Girls) and in the same section (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12).
Please be sure to include your school team name or club team name in your registration information.
Each section must have at least 7 players or section will be combined.
SCHOOL TEAM & CLUB TEAM INFO
A "TEAM" will consist of a minimum of 2 or more players from the same school or home school district, with the top 3 player scores counting toward the final team score. There is no maximum number of players that may be on a team, but only the top 3 scores will count for the final team standings. All players on a "TEAM" must register in the same section and in the same group (Boys or Girls). Team and individual games are played simultaneously.
NOTE: A player must declare whether he/she is on a School Team or a Club Team prior to the start of Round 2, but may not be on both.

Main Open Championship - USCF-Rated Sections
Over $100,000 in scholarships to Webster University! *
(A scholarship shall be awarded to the top High School Boy AND Girl. Students must meet Webster University admission criteria upon graduation from high school.)
* Limitations may apply to students who have previously been awarded Webster Scholasthips - Any student who has previously won a Webster University Scholarship at another event may not win a second "full" scholarship; the second scholarship will have a limited value of $4,000 ($1,000 for each of 4 years)
Trophies guaranteed (separately for Boys & Girls) to:
the top 5 Individual Winners in each section;
the top 3 School Teams in each section;
the top Club Team in each section.
In addition, in the 3-5 Sections and the 6-8 Sections for each group (Boys and Girls), the top three section winners will also receive, besides a trophy, the following:
1st Place - Tablet Computer
2nd Place - $100 in Chess Prizes
3rd Place - $50 in Chess Prizes
In the K-2 Section, the prizes will be as follows:
1st Place - $200 in Chess Prizes
2nd Place - $100 in Chess Prizes
3rd Place - $50 in Chess Prizes
Main Open Championship - K-12 Reserve (Unrated) Section Prizes
The top 3 Girl Winners and the top 3 Boy Winners in the K-12 Reserve (Unrated) Section will each receive a one-year USCF Scholastic Membership.
NOTE: More trophies will be added to any section that has over 25 pre-entries by Feb. 10th! So . . . please register EARLY!!!
Awards Ceremony for the Main Event will be held at as soon as possible after the last round on Sunday, March 3rd.
ELECTRONIC NOTATION DEVICES
The only two electronic chess notation devices which are approved for and allowed in a USCF-rated tournament are the Monroi and the e-Notate PDA. You may use either one of these devices, but the device must remain on top of the table at all times (you may not hold it under the table in your lap). The tournament director has the right to request to see your notation device at any time before, during or after your game.
BYES (1/2-point)
Available for any Round. Limit two byes per player. Must commit to take a bye prior to the start of Round 2.
TIEBREAKS
USCF-recommended computer tiebreaks will decide trophy placements for winners in each section, if necessary.
ENTRY FEE FOR MAIN EVENT
$45 if received by Thursday, Jan. 10th;
$55 if received by Friday, Feb. 1st;
after Feb. 1st and on-site the Entry Fee is $65 for all.

NOTE: Pre-registration is required by 8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, in order to play in the first round on Saturday morning.
On-site registrations will be accepted from 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, and player will be paired for Round 2 but will receive a 1/2-pt. bye for Round 1.

ON-SITE-REGISTRATION
Friday, March 1st: You may register on-site from 2 - 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 2nd: You may register on-site from 9:30 - 11 a.m., but you will receive a 1/2-point bye for Round 1 and then you will be paired for Round 2 and all later rounds.

MISCELLANEOUS
Chess boards and sets will be furnished, but each player must bring his own chess clock.
USCF Tournament rules will be enforced for ALL sections.
If a player knows chess notation, it is highly recommended that he notate his games. Individual score sheets will be available to the players.
Chess Vendor (Cajun Chess) will be on site.

Parents-Coaches-Friends Tournament - Saturday, March 2nd - (not USCF-rated)
Time: 10:30 a.m. Registration for this event closes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Format: 4SS, G/15, d/5 (4 Rounds; Game in 15 minutes with 5-second delay for each opponent). There will be only one OPEN section. This is not an elimination tournament. Awards based on number of total points in final standings.

Prizes: $150 of Cash Prizes will be awarded: 1st Place - $100; 2nd Place - $50

Breakfast and Q & A Session with GM Susan Polgar at World Famous Brennan's Restaurant- Sunday, March 3rd
Time: 8:30 a.m. Registration for this event closes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1st.
Site Location: Brennan's Restaurant, 417 Royal St., New Orleans, LA 70130. A private room, the "Red Room," has been reserved for this event. Coffee will be served and menu orders taken at 8:30 a.m. (a cash bar will be available for those who wish to partake), and breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m. NOTE: Brennan's Restaurant is the former home of World Chess Champion Paul Morphy. A tour of the facility is included along with breakfast.
