June 10-11 (Sat-Sun)

-- [MEMPHIS, TN] - 2017 U.S. AMATEUR SOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP.  Special appearances by GM Alex Stripunsky, GM Joel Benjamin, GM Mackenzie Molner, IM Jake Kleiman and Expert Jennie Liu! SECTIONS: Championship (U2200); Reserve (U1600); Booster (U1200).  5SS, G/90 d5.  Lausanne Collegiate School, 1381 West Massey Rd., Memphis, TN  38120.  Rounds:  Sat., June 10th @ 10am, 2pm, and 6pm; Sun., June 11th @ 10am and 2pm.   Scholastic Individual Tournament (1-day only) on Sat. June 11-17 (Mon-Fri)

-- [MEMPHIS, TN] - 16th ANNUAL MID-SOUTH SUMMER CHESS CAMP - for residential and commuter students!  Lausanne Collegiate School, 1381 West Massey Rd., Memphis, TN  38120.  Chess instructors include GM Alex Stripunsky, GM Alex Onischuk, GM Joel Benjamin, IM Jake Kleiman, IM Teddy Coleman, IM-Elect Parker Zhao, NM Nolan Hendrickson, Expert Jennie Liu, Epert Amey Pasarkar, and Early Childhood Instructor Dr. Andre Duvall!  Campers are divided into small groups according to age and level of play, each with a counselor.  Instructors rotate throughout the day so that every camper gets the full benefit of all instructors.  Camp includes Sunday afternoon opening orientation/reception for parents and campers, camp T-shirt, trophy, autographed certificate, group photo, daily souvenir, evening Grandmaster simul, and concludes with free entry to a camp tournament on Sat., June 17th.  For more info and to register, please click on Mid-South Chess Camp, or call 901-276-4663.   Hosted by Mid-South Chess!
